Questions

Does it keep the layout?

It keeps the pages and paragraphs, so page 3 of the translation is page 3 of your PDF, but not the original's design, tables or pictures. It is made for reading and understanding the text.

How good is the translation?

It is done by AI, and reads naturally in most cases, including Indian languages. Names, numbers, dates and amounts are kept as they are. For a legal or official use, have an important translation checked by someone who knows both languages.

Is my PDF sent to an AI company?

Only its text is sent, to Sarvam AI's model, which runs in India. The PDF and the translation are deleted from our servers after an hour, as with every tool.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

A scan is a picture of the pages with no text in it. Make it searchable with OCR PDF first, choosing the PDF's language, then translate that PDF.

How long can the PDF be?

Up to 30 pages. Split a longer one and translate the parts.

Is Translate PDF free?

It is included with our paid plans. A free account can try it a few times a month, and every paid plan includes more. Plans cost less than most.

What happens to my files?

Your uploads are deleted as soon as the job finishes. The file we make is deleted after an hour, or straight away if you press Delete now. We don't look at your files or keep copies.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone.

Can I use Translate PDF from my own code?

Yes. Every tool is also an API endpoint. Send your files to POST /v1/translate-pdf with an API key from your Account page, then download the result when the job is done.
