Questions

Can I trust the answers?

They are written by AI from the PDF's text, and they are usually right, but AI can get things wrong. Each answer says which page it comes from, so check anything important there. If the PDF doesn't say, it tells you so rather than guessing.

Is my PDF sent to an AI company?

Only its text and your questions are sent, to Sarvam AI's model, which runs in India. The PDF's text is deleted from our servers after an hour, as with every tool.

How many questions can I ask?

Up to 30 about each PDF, within an hour of choosing it. Choosing a PDF counts as one use of your plan's AI and server tools; the questions about it don't count again.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

A scan is a picture of the pages with no text in it. Make it searchable with OCR PDF first, then ask about that PDF.

How long can the PDF be?

Up to 100 pages of ordinary text. Split a longer one and ask about each part.

Is Ask your PDF free?

It is included with our paid plans. A free account can try it a few times a month, and every paid plan includes more. Plans cost less than most.

What happens to my files?

Your uploads are deleted as soon as the job finishes. The file we make is deleted after an hour, or straight away if you press Delete now. We don't look at your files or keep copies.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone.

Can I use Ask your PDF from my own code?

Yes. Every tool is also an API endpoint. Send your files to POST /v1/ask-pdf with an API key from your Account page, then download the result when the job is done.
