Questions

Will it look like my PDF?

Close to it. Fonts, sizes, colours, headings, lists, tables, columns and pictures are kept, and each page of the PDF starts a new page. Text is made into paragraphs rather than boxes pinned in place, so it rewraps when you edit it; that can move some lines a little.

What about scanned PDFs?

A scanned page is a picture of text, so it comes back as a picture. Make the PDF searchable with OCR PDF first, then convert it, to get text you can edit.

What about charts and diagrams?

They come back as pictures, with their labels, in the same place on the page.

Is PDF to Word free?

It is included with our paid plans. A free account can try it a few times a month, and every paid plan includes more. Plans cost less than most.

What happens to my files?

Your uploads are deleted as soon as the job finishes. The file we make is deleted after an hour, or straight away if you press Delete now. We don't look at your files or keep copies.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone.

Can I use PDF to Word from my own code?

Yes. Every tool is also an API endpoint. Send your files to POST /v1/pdf-to-word with an API key from your Account page, then download the result when the job is done.
