Questions

Which formats can I convert?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF pictures, into JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP or TIFF.

Which format should I choose?

JPG for photos that should open anywhere. PNG for screenshots, logos and pictures with see-through parts. WebP or AVIF for the smallest files on a website.

Are my photos turned the right way up?

Yes. Photos taken with the phone on its side are saved the way they were taken. Details hidden in the file, such as the camera and where it was taken, are left out.

Is Image converter free?

Yes, and as often as you like. It works in your browser, so there is nothing to sign up for.

What happens to my files?

They stay on your device. The tool works in your browser, so your files are never uploaded. Only a file too large for your device, or one your browser can't read, is sent to our servers instead; it is deleted as soon as the job finishes.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It works in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone.

Can I use Image converter from my own code?

Yes. Every tool is also an API endpoint. Send your files to POST /v1/convert-image with an API key from your Account page, then download the result when the job is done.
