Are my photos converted on my device?
In Safari on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, yes. Other browsers can't read HEIC, so there the photos are sent to our servers, converted, and deleted as soon as the job finishes.
Why are my iPhone photos HEIC?
iPhones save photos as HEIC because it takes about half the space of JPG. Many programs and websites still can't open it, which is when a JPG helps.
Is HEIC to JPG free?
Yes, and as often as you like. It works in your browser, so there is nothing to sign up for.
What happens to my files?
They stay on your device. The tool works in your browser, so your files are never uploaded. Only a file too large for your device, or one your browser can't read, is sent to our servers instead; it is deleted as soon as the job finishes.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone.
Can I use HEIC to JPG from my own code?
Yes. Every tool is also an API endpoint. Send your files to POST /v1/convert-image with an API key from your Account page, then download the result when the job is done.
