Questions
Why is my date in 1970?
The number is likely far smaller than a timestamp of today, such as a count of days, or it was cut short. Today's time is 10 digits in seconds and 13 in milliseconds.
Why is the date in the year 50,000?
A timestamp in milliseconds was read as seconds. Choose Milliseconds under Timestamp in, or check that the number wasn't joined to another.
Is Timestamp to date free?
Yes, and as often as you like. It works in your browser, so there is nothing to sign up for.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser, with its own time zone data, so nothing you type leaves your device.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works in the browser on any computer, tablet or phone.
Can I use Timestamp to date from my own code?
You won't need to: every programming language can convert timestamps, time zones and dates with what it has built in. This page is for quick checks by hand.
