Should I encode a value or a whole address?
Encode a single value, such as a search term, to put inside a query string: every symbol is encoded. For a whole address, choose the setting that keeps :, /, ? and & so it still works as a link.
Is URL encode and decode free?
Yes, and as often as you like. It works in your browser, so there is nothing to sign up for.
What happens to my files?
