How to combine Aadhaar and PAN into one PDF
Updated
Banks, employers and KYC forms often ask for your ID documents as one PDF. How you make it depends on what you start with: photos of the cards, or PDFs you downloaded. Both tools below work in your browser, so your ID documents are never uploaded.
Open Merge PDFFrom photos of your cards
- 1Take a clear photo of each side of each card, on a plain background.
- 2Open Image to PDF and choose all the photos at once.
- 3Drag them into order, such as Aadhaar front, Aadhaar back, then PAN.
- 4Download one PDF with a page for each photo.
From downloaded PDFs
The e-Aadhaar you download from UIDAI is locked with a password: the first four letters of your name as written on the card, in capitals, followed by your year of birth, such as ASHA1990. Remove it first with Unlock PDF, which also works on your device, or the merged PDF can't be made.
- 1Unlock the e-Aadhaar PDF with its password.
- 2Open Merge PDF and choose the unlocked Aadhaar and your e-PAN or other PDFs.
- 3Drag them into the order you want.
- 4Merge them and download one PDF.
If the form has a size limit
Photos make large pages. If the form only takes small files, run the finished PDF through Compress PDF; the guide on getting a PDF under 200 KB explains how.
