Who runs it

Pagey is an independent project, built and run by a single developer in India rather than a company with a support team. “We” and “us” on these pages mean that developer. Support is answered as time allows, usually within a few working days, and there is no guaranteed reply time or uptime.

The service

Pagey offers tools to convert, combine and edit documents and images, on the website and through an API for developers. Some tools run in your browser and some run on our servers; each tool's page says which. We may add, change or retire tools over time.

Your account

• Many tools work without an account. Others, and the API, need one. You need a working email address to create an account.
• Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for what is done with your account and keys. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using them.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Your files

Your files stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the jobs you ask for. Files on our servers are deleted as our privacy policy describes: uploads when the job finishes, results one hour later. Download what you need before then, and keep your own copies of anything important: we are not a storage service.

You must have the right to use the files you work on, including any you sign, edit or unlock. Only remove a password from a PDF you are allowed to open.

Fair use

You agree not to:

• use Pagey for anything illegal, or for files that break the law or someone else's rights;
• try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service;
• use the web page tools to reach addresses you aren't allowed to, or to attack other sites;
• share an account or resell the service without our written agreement.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Plans, passes and credits

• The free plan costs nothing. Paid plans (Personal, Developer and Business) are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel.
• Each plan includes a number of operations a month, storage and other limits, shown on the pricing page. Unused operations don't carry over to the next month.
• A week pass gives you the Personal plan for seven days for a single payment. It doesn't renew.
• Credits are bought once and don't expire. Each job after your monthly allowance uses one credit.
• Prices are shown before you pay, in US dollars or Indian rupees, and the checkout shows any taxes that apply to you. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.
• Payments are taken by our payment provider. If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working for a few days while the payment is tried again. If it still fails, your account moves to the free plan.

The API

API keys are available on the Developer plan and above. API jobs count against the same monthly allowance as jobs on the website, and keys are subject to rate limits. Don't share your keys or put them in code that others can read.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Pagey running and its results correct, but it is looked after by one person and is provided “as is”. We can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or right for a particular purpose, or that a problem will be fixed straight away. Check results before you rely on them, especially for converted or recognised (OCR) text.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and if a change matters to paying customers, we will email them before it applies. Using Pagey after a change means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
